The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency Hajiya Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has called for harmony and accord amongst the people of Kogi State, calling citizens a true representation of the confluence state.

The remarks were made as Kogi marks 32 years of its creation: The state was established along with 8 other states on August 27th, 1991.

In a congratulatory message made available to press, Hajiya Suleiman felicitated with her fellow citizens, calling the 32nd anniversary a feat. She opined that the diverse people of Kogi State have stood together as one through conflict and strife, and expressed pride in the unity and sincerity of purpose of Kogi people.

“Our long and rich history exists far beyond 3 decades. This region birthed Nigeria: An amalgamation of different people and cultures. It is this shared history that has kept us in harmony; our diverse cultures found a meeting point, indeed, a confluence, that allowed us to co-exist side by side, growing together as brothers and sisters,” she stated.

Speaking further, the Executive Chairman urged citizens to continue to strive for peace and unity, and gave praise to Governor Yahaya Bello whose detribalised leadership further strengthened relations among the people. She expressed hope that the unity in diversity fostered and maintained in Kogi will be continued by the potential incoming government of APC Kogi gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Ahmed Usman-Ododo, should he win the governorship election come November 2023.
