Chairperson and Chief Executive Director of Joear Trust Foundation, Mrs. Joy Okele has announced the official launch of the foundation with a noble vision to provide education and support to vulnerable, out-of-school, and orphaned children.
The event took place at RUDO Excellence School, a venue chosen as a testament to the commitment to uplifting underserved communities.
Mrs. Okele expressed deep concern for the plight of children who are unable to access education due to poverty, parental joblessness, and other socio-economic challenges.
She highlighted the distressing sight of children hawking or playing during school hours, underscoring the urgent need to address these issues.
The foundation, born out of a deep desire to make a positive impact, was christened IOEAR Trust Foundation.
Mrs. Okele passionately called for collaboration between non-governmental organizations, philanthropists, government agencies, grassroots organizations, and individuals to unite in the fight against illiteracy and to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, can receive a quality education.
The aims and objectives of Joear Trust Foundation were outlined as follows:
- To provide scholarship funds and educational resources to underprivileged students, enabling them to achieve their educational aspirations.
- To engage in community development advocacy and sensitization efforts, particularly in rural areas, focusing on education and health facilities.
- To undertake various philanthropic endeavors aimed at lifting Nigerian people out of poverty and illiteracy, ultimately striving for national progress.
Mrs. Okele’s address also highlighted the initial steps taken by the foundation, demonstrating its dedication to its cause.
Generous donations from individuals and organizations like CED and family, Girls for Development Goals Foundation, and JOVESTAR Investment were acknowledged, illustrating a strong start in fulfilling Joear’s mission.
In her concluding remarks, Mrs. Joy Okele expressed heartfelt gratitude to the board members, dedicated staff, students, and well-wishers who supported the foundation’s inception. The occasion marked a significant step toward building a brighter future for underserved children and communities.
