Commander Evarestus Festus Emmanuel, a native of Orlu Local Government Area, Imo State, was born on 27 May 1984 at Comfort Maternity, Jos, Plateau State, to the family of Dr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Nnanna Obioha.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2008), a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, and an Advanced Certificate in Journalism, Advertising, and Public Relations from the International Institute of Journalism. A member of several professional bodies, he joined the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in 2014 and has since served in various formations of the Corps.
Commander Emmanuel has attended numerous professional trainings within and outside Nigeria, including Arms Training at the 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, the Understanding Disinformation Course at the Global Communications Academy, London, a Road Safety and Traffic Enforcement Programme at Rashtriya Raksha University, India, the Executive Masterclass in Public Speaking by Eugenia Abu Media, Nigeria, and workshops on United Nations Road Safety Conventions as well as International Standards for Publishing and Legal Deposit Compliance.
In the course of his service, he has distinguished himself in several capacities. He served as Task Force Commander of a joint NPF–NSCDC–Army team to check the excesses of articulated vehicle drivers in Imo State, and played a pivotal role in the establishment of National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM. He also led the joint task force that ensured traffic order during the first-ever Imo Carnival, and directed operations to clear deadly obstructions at Emekuku and Njaba bridges in 2017.
As part of his commitment to innovation, he initiated and executed, in partnership with the Iwuanyanwu Foundation, the first-ever inter-secondary school debate competition on road safety in both Imo State and the Federal Capital Territory.
Commander Festus Emmanuel, a public relations maestro, is a recipient of so many awards and commendations, amongst which include, the award of excellence as the best FRSC intermediate rank Officer of the year 2022. He presently serves as Route Commander Media, in the Corps Public Education Office, National Headquarters, Abuja. He is a proud and responsible Husband to Superintendent Route Commander Blessing Ngozi Festus Emmanuel, and the union is blessed with 2 lovely boys and a beautiful princess.
