The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency Hajiya Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has felicitated with fellow citizens on the occasion of Nigeria’s 62nd year of independence, calling for continued peace and unity in a quest to secure the progress of the nation.
The call was detailed in a press statement to mark the nation’s 62nd year independence day celebrations. Haj. Suleiman enjoined citizens to strive to remain united with a sense of purpose, patriotism, and service to the nation.
The statement reads: “I join my fellow citizens to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of our great country, Nigeria. We have waxed together over six decades through thick and thin, we have remained steadfast in our unity of purpose for a country that works; a nation-state bound together despite our different tongues and creed, a unity in diversity.
“It is of great importance that we as Nigerians continue to hold fast to this sense of pride and patriotism in service to our fatherland. We have nowhere else, but here. We have no one else, but each other.
“I celebrate our determination to rise above our many adversities, to continue to smile in the face of suffering, to push on, to continue to hustle and thrive in the midst of little. I celebrate you, my people!
“With all this being said, I especially want to felicitate with my fellow Kogites; through historical times, when Lokoja served as the administrative capital of what would become the newly amalgamated Nigeria, we have remained the Confluence of this great nation, the intersection where all the good people of Nigeria meet and depart. I therefore enjoin all Kogites, and indeed all Nigerians to continue to strive for unity, peace, and progress. These are the tools we need to assure our future for generations to come.
“As we share messages of congratulations and patriotism, let us endeavour to imbibe the words and turn them into action in our daily lives. Let us make conscious efforts to value our nation, and never forget the sacrifices and labour of our heroes past, make them never be in vain.”As the saying goes, “If you want to go quickly, go alone, if you want to go far, go together; We need to go far, quickly.” Cheers to the next 62!Happy Independence Day Nigeria!”
