INNOVATIVE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (ICE), KARU HOLDS 2ND MATRICULATION CEREMONY; INAUGURATES NASSARAWA EGGON STUDY CENTRE

The Innovative College of Education, New Karu, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State ushered in new students in their 2nd Matriculation Ceremony held at the College Campus penultimate week.

This ceremony marked the official admission of the new students into various departments as approved by the National Commission for Colleges of Education

The Proprietor and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the College, Barr. Dr. Godwin Oladejobi in his remarks, urged the new students to take their studies seriously so that their stay in the institution shall not be in vain. He assured them that management of the college is determined to give them the best as learning equipment and qualified lecturers are on ground to give them the best.

In his opening speech, the Provost of the College, Dr.Joshua Maro Embugu said matriculation ceremony is an academic event performed by schools recognised by the government. He advised the matriculants to shun all forms of social vices like cultism and examination malpractices.

The Registrar of the College, Olu Andrew Kayode who administerer the Oath of Matriculation on the incoming students expressed happiness that the college has been granted more courses by the Federal Government and advised students to settle down quickly to commence their studies, adding that the College can boast of qualified and dedicated staff and other teaching and infrastructural facilities.

in an interview with cross-section of the new students, they promised to study hard and make maximum use of the opportunity provided them by the Innovative College of Education and to exhibit good character, avoid corrupt tendencies but rather embrace good moral values.

As part of efforts to extend her tentacles and accomodate potential teachers towards building a better education system across the land, the College of Education had opened a Study Centre in Nassarawa Eggon Community.

Performing the inauguration of the centre, the Executive Chairman of Nassarawa Eggon LGC, Hon.Mohammadu Danlami Idris eminently represented by his deputy, Hon.(Engr.) Benjamin Kuzhe Manga, JP, expressed delight in the operation of the College and open-handedly welcomed the centre to their domain. He further assured the college of the council’s support while he thanked the Proprietor and the Principal Officers for their readiness in grassroots development and creation of job opportunities for their people.

The well attended occasion had in attendance the Local Government Education Secretary, Hon. Ewuga Ali-Baba.
