Today, history was made as the Kogi State Government formally handed over the site for the construction of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation House in Okene.
The historic event was witnessed by the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Taye Abanika; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic Media, Hon. Yussuf Adebayo Ohiare; the first female Director-General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Hajia Hauwa Yusuf; and other top government officials.
The project, which is being undertaken by WideView, is expected to be delivered within 16 weeks.
I sincerely thank His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his strong commitment to the growth and transformation of the broadcast sector in Kogi State. Broadcasting remains a critical bridge between government and the people, and a powerful platform for galvanising grassroots participation in governance.
I also commend my colleague, a hardworking professional, Hon. Taye Abanika, for the excellent work he has done in translating His Excellency’s promise to the people into reality. His dedication to the delivery of this important project is worthy of commendation.
The new Broadcasting Corporation House represents another significant step in strengthening the institutional capacity of our broadcast industry and positioning it to serve the people of Kogi State even more effectively.
