Amb. Hassiat Suleiman Honored with Traditional Title for Service to Humanity and Leadership

In a grand ceremony held at the palace of His Royal Highness, Sir Ujah Sani Simon, the Ejeh Olamaboro and Chairman of the Olamaboro Local Government Traditional Council, Special Adviser to the Kogi Governor on Strategic Investment and Liaison with Federal Agencies Ambassador Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman was conferred with the prestigious title of Alikeju Ejeh. The honor, bestowed in recognition of her outstanding service to humanity, exemplary leadership, and contributions to Kogi State, coincided with the Ejeh’s 6th anniversary on the throne.

The event, well-attended by dignitaries, traditional leaders, and government functionaries, featured the presence of the Council of Chiefs, the Idu of Oha Clan, the Onu of Itobe, and other notable figures. In his remarks, the Onu of Itobe described the conferment as a unifying gesture aimed at strengthening ties among the people of Kogi State across its eastern, western, and central regions.

HRH, Ejeh Olamaboro

Praising Ambassador Suleiman, the Ejeh Olamaboro stated that she came highly recommended, and highlighted her commendable track record as Chairman of the Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee during the previous administration. He acknowledged her efforts in mediating between mineral title holders and host communities in the mineral-rich Kogi East senatorial district, as well as her role in enforcing community development agreements that significantly benefited local residents.

“Ambassador Suleiman’s tenacity and work ethic have earned her this honor,” the Ejeh stated. Adding that Alikeju means “The Eye of the King,” he also conferred titles on other deserving individuals during the ceremony and urged the new chiefs to uphold integrity and respect in their newfound roles. “You are now men and women of greatness,” he added, encouraging them to continue striving in service to humanity and to view themselves as proud sons and daughters of the land.

Idu of Oha Clan

The Idu of Oha Clan, in a gesture of appreciation, thanked the Ejeh for recognizing Ambassador Suleiman, whom he referred to as his “daughter.” He expressed confidence in her character and assured the gathering that she would carry the Alikeju Ejeh title with pride and honor.

In her acceptance speech, Ambassador Suleiman expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, pledging to continue her commitment to serving humanity and contributing to the development of Kogi State.

The occasion was a celebration of leadership, service, and unity, underscoring the vital role traditional institutions play in fostering cohesion and honoring excellence in society.
